New Westminster Museum & Archives
Keeping history alive!

Welcome to the oldest incorporated City in western Canada. The beginning of the New Westminster Museum and Archives is found in 1950, when the City purchased Irving House, one of the oldest homes in Metro Vancouver.

Since its beginning as a museum, a number of dedicated people have worked hard to ensure that the rich heritage of the City is preserved for present and future generations by collecting an ever-growing number of artifacts and documents of every kind. The most significant “artifact” is Irving House itself.

Next to Irving House, the Museum and Archives help tell the colourful history of New Westminster.

Take an online tour or costume guided tour of Irving House. Please visit our Museum, Archives, Gift Shop and Program web pages for our other services.
