Canada Day Day-Time Celebration

Fabulous fun for the entire family including awesome entertainment in beautiful Queen’s Park. Enjoy exciting roving entertainment, interactive community display booths and our celebrated ‘Pick-a-Box’ auction. Presented by The City of New Westminster and the Arts Commission.

Canada Day Night-Time Hyack Fireworks Celebrations

Peter Goodwin, President, New Westminster Hyack Festival Association (“Hyack”), is pleased to announce Hyack’s Canada Day Celebrations on Tuesday, July 1st at the New Westminster Quay, an afternoon and evening of family fun culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 pm.

This event will be a partnership with RiverMarket and Hyack Festival, including great sponsorships from the new uptown Kal Tire, Kruger, Vancity, Fortis, and the City of New Westminster.
Activities near River Market will include a kid zone with bouncy castle and Music Box Crafts, buskers along the boardwalk, and performances by the renowned Vancouver Circus School near the Paddle Wheeler Pub. A sound stage near the Tugboat Playground will feature musical guests the rock Group openers Freedom 95, and acclaimed Dixieland ensemble The Creole Jazz Band, and the Westminster Regimental Band and with local Queensborough notable soloist Giovanni. Joining in the afternoon of melodies and tunes will be the Boot River Boys from Burnaby.

The Shops at River Market will remain open late and the Fraser River Discovery Centre will have extended hours, closing at 6:00 pm. Festivities will stretch from the Sampson V mooring area eastward to the Fraser River Discovery Center, including the area all the way to the Paddle Wheeler ticket sales hut.
