Arts emotionally connect people to their community!

Arts and Culture is a new division within the Park, Culture and Recreation Department. Greg Magirescu, the Manager of Culture, is activity working with public, private and non-profit cultural agencies and individuals to foster further development and presence in our City.

The Manager of Culture is guided by several studies and strategies as well as the New Westminster Arts and Culture Commission. Key projects include:

  • developing a public art policy
  • development of the cultural component of the Anvil Centre
  • develop cultural venues and elements in Westminster Pier Park
  • assist with the coordination of New Westminster Arts Service providers
  • assist with the Massey Theatre replacement with SD#40
  • create an arts and culture inventory
